Sessions on the state of European mental healthcare, gender violence, LGBTQ+ and restorative justice
Notification on the last two days on the event the 10th and 11th of November
The event on political abuses of psychiatry: ongoing cases Worldwide is coming to an end, with the 10th of November sessions devoted to the mental healthcare in the European Union, and the 11th of November sessions focusing on gender violence, LGBTQ+ and restorative justice. Unless last minute changes, speakers will be:
On Friday 10th, from 16h 15h CEST. Dr. Paola Di Maio (on psychological abuse: a complex systems viewpoint; pre-recorded presentation with live round-table), Dr. Peter Groot (on methods to personalize / lower dosage and deprescribe), Dra. Alejandra Gandolfi (on cases of violence in the Spanish health system), Drs. Peter Lehman and Craig Newnes (on human rights violations in the European Union mental healthcare system), Dra. Tatiana Castilllo and Rodrigo Freites (on mad studies and the situation from the Chilean perspective).
On Saturday 11th, from 16h CEST. Colleagues formerly leaders of the human rights committee of the Spanish Neuropsychiatric Association (on alternatives to coercion in Spain, and why they resigned), Lídia Losa y Xisca Morell (on profane counter-experiences to vindicate otherness with imposture, first-person memory and subaltern language), the Madrid Mad Pride collective (on their first hand experiences in the Spanish healthcare system) and colleague Édel Granda (on trans rights: pre-recorded presentation), Dr. Hel Spandler from Assylum UK and University of Central Lancashire, Dr. Kim Wichera from the Runaway House Berlin, and Dr. Timothy Jones professor at La Trobe University and president of the Australian Queer Archives.
